2026 Summer Intern – Future of Land and Housing Program (PAID)
New America is seeking qualified applicants for their Future of Land and Housing Program's paid summer internship. The role involves conducting research, writing, and providing analytic support for domestic housing and land policy, with a focus on affordable housing and related topics.

Responsibilities
Assist the FLH team with quantitative or qualitative research, analysis and convening in housing policy areas
Produce blog posts, articles, and written communication products on housing, land, and property rights
Attend meetings and conferences that contribute to the development of FLH’s areas of interest
Provide support for events and presentations
General administrative duties as needed
Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week) remotely
Qualification
Required
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Demonstrated experience in public policy, with housing or land use policy preferred
Experience in communications is a plus
Intellectual curiosity, motivation, and a desire to learn on the job
Self-starter who can work quickly and multi-task
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and time management
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Commitment to racial equity in housing and land use
A recent or current graduate student with a major relevant to FLH, including, but not limited to, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Sociology, or a related field
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in public policy, with housing or land use policy preferred
Experience in communications is a plus
