Developmental Disabilities Service District Administrator - Omaha

The State of Nebraska is seeking a Developmental Disabilities Service District Administrator to oversee the administration and organization of Service Coordination teams. This role involves supervising Service Coordination Supervisors, managing policies, and enhancing service delivery for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assist with hiring, training, and coaching
Assist in developing, interpreting, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and regulations
Act as a liaison with Medicaid providers, families, or stakeholders
Manage work schedules, task assignments, performance, and leave requests
Direct, monitor and evaluate the work of your team by providing indirect oversight of 50-70 Service Coordinators and approximately 1300 individuals receiving services
Assist with hiring, training, and coaching Service Coordination teammates
Plan, organize, and direct, establishing program objectives, strategies, policies, procedures, and priorities
Develop and implement policies and procedures in response to changing program needs, enhancing service delivery and program operations
Develop and implement quality enhancement policies at the District level, evaluating performance against goals and identifying action plans for improvement
Consult with Administrator II for Service Coordination Operations and DDD Deputy Directors regarding service coordination needs and issues
Establish collaborative relationships with participants of waiver services and their guardians, providers, advocacy entities, and community organizations to enhance the continuum of care

Required

Bachelor's degree in social work, business administration, public administration, human development, human services, behavioral health, law, special education, quality/project management or other closely related field AND two years of supervisory experience in developmental or intellectual disabilities program and services; OR a Master's degree in any of the above mentioned fields
Possess a valid driver's license and have immediate access to a reliable vehicle

Preferred

Experience supervising and leading teammates, facilitating, and presenting in meetings, and engaging in difficult conversations
Experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, Nfocus and Therap
Knowledge of Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers, specifically the two DD HCBS Waivers, the Aged and Disabled (AD) Waiver, and the Traumatic Brian Injury (TBI) Waiver
Program knowledge of Targeted Case Management and Service Coordination responsibilities and functions
