Architecture: Define power distribution and safety architecture for the device
Actuation: Select and validate motor drivers (DC motors, actuators)
Sensor Integration: Integrate limit switches, jam detection, current sensing, etc
Hardware Bring-up: Lead the wiring, debugging, and initial testing of the prototype
PCB Design: Create basic PCB designs for rapid prototyping as needed
Safety & Logic: Support safety interlocks and shutdown logic
Collaboration: Work closely with the Embedded Engineer on system integration
BOM Management: Contribute to BOM (Bill of Materials) and cost-reduction decisions
Qualification
Required
Proven experience with motor drivers and actuator control
Strong fundamentals in power electronics and safe prototyping practices
Hands-on hardware debugging mindset (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Comfortable in the 'messy' reality of early-stage hardware bring-up
Experience with safety logic and hardware interlocks is a major advantage
Preferred
Background in Robotics or IoT hardware
Awareness of EMC/ESD standards
Experience with PCB assembly and supplier coordination
