NEOGOV, part of the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, is seeking an AASHTOWare Program Support Specialist to support the use of AASHTOWare Project in contract delivery and administration. The role involves working with transportation programs and business staff to ensure efficient system operations and providing training and support to users.

Responsibilities

Support the Department’s use of AASHTOWare Project, assisting with system operations that support contract delivery and administration statewide
Work with transportation programs and business staff to help ensure the system supports accurate, efficient, and consistent contract delivery across the state
Develop an understanding of departmental workflows and internal processes in order to support users, maintain clear and up-to-date documentation, and provide timely, customer-focused assistance
Work with staff across the Department and interact with members of Alaska’s contracting community to support effective system use
Assist with user outreach, training, and coordination with other state departments or external partners in support of ongoing system improvement

Required

A valid driver's license is required
Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, architecture or land surveying from a postsecondary institution accredited by ABET
A bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, architecture or land surveying from a postsecondary institution not accredited by ABET
An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Land Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) certificate issued by a state or the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors; or verification of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) examination
One year of entry level engineering, architectural or land surveying experience as an Engineering Assistant 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere
Five years of progressively responsible subprofessional engineering experience of which two years was as a Journey level Engineering Technician or Drafting Technician 3 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere
Two years of engineering, architectural or land surveying experience of which one year was at the working or intermediate trainee level
Or: A bachelor's degree with a major in a branch of engineering from an institution not accredited by ABET
Four years of any combination of ABET accredited postsecondary education in engineering, architecture, or land surveying (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) and/or engineering, architectural or land surveying experience may substitute for the required degree
Graduate study in engineering or architecture may be substituted for the required experience (2 semester/3 quarter hours equal one month)
Or: A bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, architecture or land surveying from an institution accredited by ABET
Or: A bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, architecture or land surveying from an institution not accredited by ABET

Transportation Engineering: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods applicable to planning, designing, and constructing of transportation systems including traffic analysis, signal analysis, highway capacity, pavement design, bridge construction, planning of transportation projects, environmental analysis of transportation facilities, and transportation network analysis
Adaptability: adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment
