Welder I (TIG) - 2nd Shift (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Set Up and Operate Welding Equipment: Position parts in jigs or fixtures, select appropriate welding tools and materials, connect and activate gas flow, and set parameters for desired welds based on technical drawings and blueprints
Perform Welding Operations: Hold torches correctly, apply filler rods, and execute various welds, including specific types such as Clamp-to-Tube and Bracket-to-Tube, on materials like nitronics, aluminum, and stainless steel
Inspect and Repair Welds: Examine welds for quality, grind off excess slag, clean parts, and repair welds based on rejection sheets and X-ray film analysis
Follow Safety and Compliance Standards: Adhere to company rules and regulations, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, and International Trade Compliance; maintain a clean work area
Support and Train: Assist in training other welders, plan and perform a variety of welding operations, interpret technical documents, and use computer-controlled welding equipment as needed
Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends
Qualification
Required
Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
1+ years of welding experience
Preferred
Previous TIG welding experience
Thin-wall welding experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing setting
