Purchasing Agent
TRIO Design is a highly-regarded interior design and visual merchandising firm seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support the successful execution of design projects. The role involves managing the full purchasing process, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and supplies to keep projects moving smoothly.
Responsibilities
Manage the full purchasing process from request through delivery
Convert design requests into purchase orders
Place vendor orders within required timelines
Actively expedite shipments to meet project deadlines
Maintain strong vendor relationships
Troubleshoot order discrepancies
Coordinate substitutions when needed
Proactively communicate any delivery risks to internal teams
Verify acknowledgements and reconcile discrepancies
Ensure accurate records across systems
Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED required (Associate Degree or higher preferred)
3+ years' experience in purchasing role or like experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate among a wide variety of audiences
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Proven history of effective project management
Ability to move and lift at least 50-75 lbs. on project sites if needed
Must be comfortable working in groups and participating in cross-functional teams towards a common goal
Highly motivated team player
