Electrical Engineer – High Voltage Micro-Welding Systems
EPITEC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support high-voltage micro-welding systems used in EV battery manufacturing. This role focuses on designing, integrating, and supporting electrical and controls systems that enable safe, repeatable, high-quality welding in high-volume production environments.

Responsibilities
Design and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems for laser and resistance micro-welding equipment
Support high-voltage flex circuits for battery cells, modules, and packs
Integrate and support PLCs, HMIs, motion control, safety PLCs (Allen-Bradley / Siemens)
Ensure compliance with NFPA 79, IEC, UL, and high-voltage safety standards
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, launches, and production ramp-up
Drive improvements in OEE, FPY, reliability, and weld quality
Support weld monitoring, traceability, MES integration, and quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in automotive or EV battery manufacturing
Hands-on experience with laser and/or resistance micro-welding
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN, Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, and industrial networks
Strong troubleshooting, safety, and cross-functional communication skills
Preferred
EV battery cell/module/pack experience
Knowledge of battery tab micro-welding (Cu-Al, Cu-Ni, Al-Al)
Class 4 laser safety experience or certification
MES, weld data analytics, or traceability experience
