Responsibilities
Develop new material technologies that optimize performance while balancing cost and environmental impact
Design and execute laboratory studies to evaluate material technologies, interpreting results based on the underlying chemistry and physics
Collaborate closely with suppliers, design teams, and applied development groups to ensure alignment and successful technology integration
Provide on-site support during plant trials to validate material performance and assist in troubleshooting
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively across technical and non-technical audiences to support decision-making and project advancement
Qualification
Required
PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or similar field with a preference for Synthetic, Organic, or Organometallic Chemistry degrees
Experience in new material and chemical development, ideally within the automotive, tire industry, and/or experience in a research and development organization
Preferred
Experience in elastomeric composite design and formulation
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills
Be open-minded, optimistic, and collaborative, with a strong sense of urgency and initiative
