Facilities Building Operator

Responsibilities
Plan and perform a wide variety of chiller plant and refrigeration duties where only general operating instructions are available
Diagnose breakdowns or serious delays in operations and testing
Diagnose malfunctions in equipment and effectively repair in expeditious manner
Modify equipment controls to achieve the most energy efficient operation possible
Operate computer-based building automation systems
Handle medium and heavy equipment or tools for repairs
Work in cramped spaces or on ladders and scaffolding
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to use and interpret complicated blueprints, specifications, and precision measuring instruments such as pressure gauges, meters, recorders, charts, vacuum gauges, voltmeter and log equipment
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
4 years of experience in HVAC or completion of technical school/formal training
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred
knowledge of electricity for minor repairs, and mechanical knowledge
BOMA Air Conditioning Certification
Valid EPA 608 Universal Technical Certification
