Co-Op Integration and Test Engineer
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the defense of our country. The role involves working on technical projects, developing and maintaining Python test scripts, and troubleshooting hardware issues within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining Python test scripts to validate hardware functionality
Support the interpretation and analysis of electronic schematics/datasheets for troubleshooting and design purposes
Learn to operate and utilize laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies, to test and debug hardware
Collaborate with the team using Git repositories for version control and code management
Support hardware and software development processes by adhering to Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Design (CD) practices
Utilize Linux/Unix command-line tools and shell commands for system-level operations and debugging
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related issues efficiently and systematically
Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports
Qualification
Required
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology
Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
Assist in developing and maintaining Python test scripts to validate hardware functionality

Learn to operate and utilize laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies, to test and debug hardware

Preferred
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with or interest in learning Continuous Integration and Continuous Design (CI/CD) pipelines
Basic experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for hardware debugging
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and perform effectively on small teams
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
GPA of 3.00 or higher
Ability to work year around, able to work 14 or more hours per week (we accommodate school schedules)
12 months or more remaining until graduation
Demonstrated ability to work in teams
Participated in extracurricular and community service activities
