Responsibilities
Manage and develop a global cash application team handling all customer payment types, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, lockbox receipts, miscellaneous, and non-AR transactions
Direct daily cash application activities, ensuring accurate posting, reconciliation, and monitoring of bank interfaces
Ensure customer payments are applied correctly and on time in accordance with internal policies and procedures
Oversee the investigation and resolution of unapplied and unidentified cash balances
Collaborate closely with Revenue, Treasury, Collections, Accounting, IT, and Finance Systems teams to ensure accurate accounts receivable balances and healthy cash flow
Contribute to monthly and quarterly cash forecasting and reporting processes
Enforce strong internal controls and ensure adherence to audit and accounting requirements
Establish and track performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting for cash application operations
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, including OCR, AI-based matching, RPA, and ERP optimizations
Support ERP implementations, system upgrades, bank integrations, and process documentation efforts
Lead month-end close activities related to cash application and balance reconciliations
Act as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk payment and reconciliation issues
Qualification
Required
5+ years of Accounts Receivable or Cash Application experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
Strong expertise in cash management, payment processing, and reconciliations
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, bank portals, lockbox operations, and bank file integrations
Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working in high-volume, multi-entity, and multi-currency environments
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines during close periods
Preferred
Experience in subscription-based or technology-driven organizations
Exposure to automation tools, RPA, or machine learning solutions
Knowledge of accounting standards and internal controls
Experience working with shared services or global finance teams
Familiarity with reporting and integration tools
