Development Associate

Mastery Schools is a public charter network dedicated to providing students with the skills they need to succeed. The Development Associate will manage the Raiser’s Edge database, assist with prospect research, and support annual giving campaigns to help achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

Manage the Raiser’s Edge database, overseeing gift processing, data entry procedures, and management of records
Assist with prospect research of individuals, corporations, and foundations
Generate timely acknowledgement letters/tax receipts for all donations
Create and segment lists for multiple comprehensive annual giving campaigns (direct mail, and email)
Create reports for development planning/analysis and Board reporting
Serve as the development liaison with finance and Foundation accountant for reconciliation of records

Required

Bachelor's degree preferred, or a high school diploma with equivalent education and experience
Minimum of 1-3 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a proven track record in annual fund development and implementation, prospect research, general development communications, and experience with gift entry, database management, and analyzing donor data
Ability to execute; great track record of getting things done
Strong writing skills for solicitation efforts, development communications and grant proposals
Excellent interpersonal skills; can build relationships
Excellent organizational skills
Mastery of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; proficiency in Raiser's Edge a plus
Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as outlined above, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as traveling to network campuses, monitoring and interacting with students, in-person facilitation of trainings, etc
This role may require frequent travel between multiple locations. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill job responsibilities

Experience fundraising in education-related organizations a plus
