Start in 2026 SummerKloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to join their team at their Operations Facility in Santa Fe Springs, California. The intern will support environmental audits, inspections, reporting, EH&S training, and other initiatives to maintain a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities
Assist in performing safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace
Gather and analyze safety-related data, including incident reports and near-miss incidents
Help organize and facilitate safety training sessions for employees on various safety topics
Maintain and update safety records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations
Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Aid in the preparation of safety reports and presentations for management
Conduct research on current safety trends and best practices to improve workplace safety
Assist in communicating safety policies and procedures to employees effectively
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
Strong analytical skills for assessing safety data and identifying trends
Good verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and facilitating training
High level of attention to detail in safety inspections and documentation
Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and individuals
