Senior Human Resources Manager

Responsibilities

Create and maintain HR policies, programs, and frameworks that ensure compliance and organizational effectiveness
Align HR priorities to drive programs consistent with UE System’s values
Lead employee relations, investigations, and performance management with consistent, fair processes
Develop manager training, tools, and resources that strengthen leadership capability
Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance and employee programs
Build people dashboards and workforce insights to support leadership decision-making
Partner with legal counsel on employee agreements and employment-related documentation
Work with HR and safety specialists to ensure compliant practices across U.S./Canada and OSHA-aligned safety policies
Support compensation work through guidelines, leveling frameworks, and collaboration with compensation specialists
Own end-to-end payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across jurisdictions
Drive change management initiatives that improve team health, clarity, and organizational alignment
Design scalable HR solutions that support growth, fairness, and a consistent employee experience
Audit internal programs on a recurring basis

Required

7+ years of HR experience, ideally within fast-growing or scaling organizations
Experience developing HR policies, leading employee relations, and supporting managers through performance issues
Hands-on experience with benefits administration and compensation structures
Solid knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment legislation (multi-province/state experience preferred)
Strong analytical abilities, with experience using people metrics or dashboards to inform decisions
Experience coordinating with external HR specialists, benefits brokers, legal counsel, and safety vendors

Preferred

Experience building HR programs from scratch in a small or mid-size business
Exposure to OSHA or other safety-related HR requirements
Experience developing competency models, leveling frameworks, or promotion structures
HR certification (e.g., CPHR, SHRM-CP, CHRL)
Experience in a manufacturing, technical, or operations-heavy environment
Comfort working in a remote-first or hybrid team across regions
