Responsibilities
Review customer specifications and determine the optimum connector solution
Interpret customer specifications and have a working knowledge of the industry standards
Develop and review new design concepts in collaboration with engineering team
Assist in project management relative to new designs through engineering and qualification testing processes
Aid engineering and process engineering as the ‘voice of the customer relative to design/project requirements
Promote collaboration with Business Development and Product Marketing to define market & application needs and help develop technologies and products allowing Amphenol to remain an industry leader
Present detailed designs to customers and participate in technical trade shows
Assist marketing communications team in preparing technical literature to promote products and technologies
Project management, time management, interpersonal communication skills, and computer skills
Travel as necessary; up to 50% of the time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or other technical discipline
Two or more years of related interconnect experience particularly with harsh environment solutions and/or power systems
Ability to knowledgably present complex designs
Organized and self-motivated
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Capable of learning and using Amphenol's operating programs
Ability to work and travel independently
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, customer source documents, drawings, and other professional manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a consistent and timely manner
Ability to solve problems from easy to complex
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to travel (Air & Car)
