Field Services Deputy – Court Security – Special Part-Time
Ingham County is seeking a certified police officer for the position of Field Services Deputy – Court Security. The role involves providing safety, security, and police services at the Veteran’s Memorial courthouse and managing various responsibilities related to court security and inmate monitoring.

Responsibilities
Monitor inmates and in-custody juveniles and bring them to the courtroom for their hearing/trial
Monitor courtrooms when needed to maintain decorum
Take remands and warrant arrests into custody
Monitor lobby
Handle any criminal complaints that occur within the sidewalks surrounding VMC/GPB
Assist MDOC/ other agencies when they transport persons to VMC for court
Manage Conflict and disruptive persons who have business at VMC, to include FOC or the clerk’s office
Assist juvenile officers and probation officers
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent required
Must be MCOLES certified
Must have no prior felony convictions (includes expunged convictions)
Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver's license
Must be at least 21 years of age
Weight must be in proportion to height as determined by physical examination
Uncorrected vision correctable to 20/20 vision in each eye by soft contact lenses, gas permeable lenses and/or extended wear lenses. No greater than 20/40 vision in each eye correctable to 20/20 with glasses. Must not be color blind
Preferred
College training in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice preferred
Prior Law Enforcement experience preferred
