Intern - Safety
The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking a conscientious second- or third-year college level Environmental Health and Safety student to assist within the safety department. The role involves conducting various inspections and risk assessments to ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities
Inspect AEDs and emergency eye wash showers
Conduct field inspections on construction and production crews
Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments
Conduct electrical hazard inspections
Conduct Lab inspections
Conduct Petroleum Bulk Storage/ Chemical Bulk Storage inspections alongside EHS specialists
Qualification
Required
No prior job experience necessary
Coursework in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering or Industrial Hygiene
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be highly organized, responsible, and goal-orientated, with a strong attention to detail
Possess excellent communication skills and be motivated to learn
Must be a Suffolk County resident and possess a valid driver's license
