Controls Engineer - Industrial Automation & Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks
Create and modify PLC logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) to meet operational requirements
Develop and implement HMI interfaces and operator displays for monitoring and control
Specify and configure industrial sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
Develop electrical schematics and documentation using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems on new and existing equipment
Ensure compliance with safety standards (NFPA 79, UL, IEC, OSHA, etc.) and company policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and automation upgrades
Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams
Maintain system backups, revision control, and documentation for all control program

Required

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

Preferred

3–7 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering preferred
Experience with PLC programming (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or similar platforms)
Proficiency in HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware, etc.)
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.)
Familiarity with robotics integration, motion control, or distributed control systems (DCS) is a plus
