Senior Editor

SKDK is a leading public affairs and political advertising agency with a proven track record of excellence. They are seeking a Senior Editor to create high-quality TV commercials for prominent Democratic campaigns and advocacy organizations, managing a team and collaborating closely with creative and production teams.

Public Relations

Responsibilities

Make TV commercials for many of our top clients, including some of the biggest Democratic campaigns and advocacy organizations across the country
Create 15-second, 30-second, 60-second TV and digital commercials, and long-form videos
Comfortable with minimal motion graphics work
Must have the ability to create ads for and against candidates and causes
Work with a variety of concepts and treatments, combining fonts, motion graphics, basic SFX, and LUTs
Blend creative assets from a wide variety of sources, using news materials, internal and external footage, and pictures
Help to lead the post-production in-house team, managing offline editors, an online editor, and motion graphic artists
Create organizational project files for ease of managing projects across the editing team
Collaborate with the Creative Director, production team, and senior strategy team to blend strategic and visual goals
Create, edit, and concept ads that meet all of our client’s needs
Create and/or add various SFX to your work or the work of other editors
Work with the Creative Director on spot’s color/overall look and feel
Add artistic touch or recommendations to other video content, including selecting music, voiceover, graphics, and effects
Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing techniques, trends in advertising, and advancements in motion graphics and animation
Provide expertise and input during creative meetings, contributing to the development of campaign strategies and creative concepts
Ensure all video content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign objectives

Required

Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in video editing, with some motion graphics work
Expertise in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and motion graphics tools (e.g., Adobe After Effects)
Excellent storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to thorough quality assurance processes, especially under tight deadlines
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, skilled in juggling multiple tasks with tight deadlines

Preferred

Experience in the political campaigns and advocacy space is preferred but not required
