Responsibilities
Manage the applications function within the Pinehurst, NC field operations department, including supervising direct reports in meeting individual and functional objectives
Supervise multiple and simultaneous technical projects and events, while reporting to the Director of Field Application Engineering located in NYC
The position is based in the Pinehurst, NC office
Plan, execute and report on field applications events, demonstrations and testing as directed
Coordinate with local sales and program engineers across the company to provide direct applications engineering support
Onboard, mentor and guide junior FAE's on the Applications Pinehurst, NC team, providing both technical and professional development
Regular travel to event locations and customer sites to directly support and manage testing, evaluation, and deployment of Wave Relay
Manage and create engineering tasks, such as defining requirements, building test plans, analyzing data, and creating technical reports
Attend weekly meetings with the Director of Field Application Engineering
Hold regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports as well as weekly Site Manager meetings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience (5+ years of working in relevant field)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
At least 2 years of Wave Relay integration experience
Served in a supervisory role with direct reports, either at Persistent or at another company or organization
Strong knowledge of competing radios systems, waveforms, and trends in wireless communications
Experience presenting to large groups, including customers, and proven ability to adapt presentations to technical level of audience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
Must be willing to travel 50% of the time
May need to navigate rough terrain, climb ladders, or work in physically demanding conditions with exposure to extreme temperatures or noise
Stamina and endurance: FAEs often spend a lot of time on their feet, visiting customer sites, attending trade shows, conducting demonstrations, and traveling for work
Ability to stand and sit for extended periods: FAEs often spend significant time at trade shows, in front of computers, writing reports, analyzing data, and communicating with clients
Ability to lift and carry moderate weight: This could involve carrying equipment, tools, or product samples to and from customer sites. Some roles might require lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb stairs and ladders: Accessing different areas of customer facilities might involve stairs and ladders
Good hand-eye coordination: This is important for tasks like setting up equipment, performing demonstrations, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing repairs
