Responsibilities
Manages and Directs work of functional team, including hiring, corrective action, performance appraisals and pay review, budget and processes
Leads and motivates a large team, manages performance, and fosters a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance with Wurth MSM basic principles
Implements training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including new employee onboarding
Manages workforce planning and staffing to meet operational requirements
Takes overall responsibility for the warehouse and inventory management operations and implements action items to ensure that those goals are achieved
Manages and mentors the Logistics Team
Reviews financial statements, sales, production reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, as well as to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
Develops, directs and continuously improves departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures by collaborating with fellow leaders and conferring with the Würth MSM executive leadership as necessary
Develops performance goals and objectives for operations employees and monitors achievement of those goals
Ensures processes and procedures developed by other functional areas are implemented within all warehouse operations departments
Follows operating policies/procedures and ensures employee compliance. Ensures Warehouse Leaders are creating a safety conscious culture
Provides input to the Operations Manager regarding budgeting for all warehouse operations departments, and ensures goals are met (sales, margins, costs/expenses, inventory)
Continually models and teaches the corporate culture of Wurth MSM and models inclusion of input from all levels of employees and other departments
Ensures customer satisfaction. Represents the company at all times in a customer relations capacity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field, and a minimum of 5 years of warehouse/operations management experience or commensurate combination of education and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of distribution center best practices, policies, procedures
Knowledge of Warehouse Management systems and Warehouse automation
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Suite of products
Must maintain valid driver's license, clean driving record, and forklift certification
Results oriented, focused on continuous improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation and persuasive skills
Participative management style, solid leadership skills and ability to build successful teams
Able to read and interpret documents such as training instructions, shipping tickets, procedure manuals, etc
Able to work with mathematical concepts such as graphs, statistics, percentages, and ratios
Ability to establish credibility, respect and trust from staff and external business partners
Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem solving in many types of diverse situations
Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning ability
Knowledge and experience in ISO certification
Preferred
Understanding of SAP is a plus
Familiar with Lean distribution methodologies
