Responsibilities
Lead construction operations for the company’s Build-to-rent (BTR) and senior living portfolio
Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of ground‑up and renovation projects across multiple regions
Ensure that every community is built on-time, on budget and with highest standards of safety, quality, and resident experience
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the company’s multifamily, Build-to-Rent, and senior living portfolio
Oversee preconstruction planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation across all projects
Establish and enforce construction standards tailored to residential and senior living environments
Lead the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects such as new developments and expansions of existing communities
Maintain a strong field presence through regular site visits
Proactively resolve challenges by partnering with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and trade partners
Ensure senior living projects meet specialized requirements such as state-specific licensure, nurse call systems, infection control standards, ADA/UFAS accessibility, and emergency power systems
Build and develop high-performing project teams, leading hiring efforts and mentoring construction leaders
Serve as a key liaison between construction, development, and operations
Champion a culture of safety and quality, ensuring compliance with OSHA, building codes, fair housing requirements, environmental regulations, and senior living standards
Approve budgets, schedules, and major change orders
Monitor portfolio-level financial performance and risk
Negotiate key contracts and vendor agreements to ensure predictable project outcomes and long-term profitability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is required
10–20+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, including multifamily and/or senior living projects is required
Proven track record delivering large‑scale residential communities, assisted living, memory care, or mixed‑use developments
Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, life‑safety systems, and senior living regulatory requirements
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability and willingness to travel extensively to remote job sites up to 75% is required for this position
Preferred
An advanced degree is preferred
Experience with wood‑frame, podium, steel, and modular construction
Background in both ground‑up and renovation/repositioning of multifamily or senior living communities
Familiarity with HUD, LIHTC, or other affordable housing programs (if relevant)
Experience coordinating with senior living operations teams, clinical staff, and state regulatory bodies
