Associate Manufacturing Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support production activities in El Segundo, CA. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for Mechanism assemblies and Battery integration, ensuring quality, producibility, and cost-effective production.

Responsibilities

Develop, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes for mechanical assemblies, harnessing/wiring and battery systems
Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation: process flows, work instructions, assembly guides, routings, tooling specifications, and process control plans
Lead process validations, failure investigations, root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts
Interface with design engineering, quality, procurement, test engineering, and production teams to resolve manufacturability and producibility issues
Define and specify manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures; support procurement and supplier integration
Support production ramps, capacity planning, and troubleshooting on the shop floor to ensure schedule and quality targets are met
Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma practices to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
Ensure compliance with Boeing manufacturing standards, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
Mentor and train production and supplier personnel on processes, work instructions, and best practices

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience with mechanical assemblies
Experience with process documentation, DWG/PDF work instructions, process flow development, and production support
Demonstrate problem-solving skills using root-cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, etc)
Proficient with CAD/ECAD basics (CREO, SolidWorks, or similar), manufacturing data systems (MES/PLM), and Microsoft Office tools

Preferred

Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or Manufacturing Engineering certifications
