Controls & Test Engineering Technician

Responsibilities
Commission and validate functional test equipment, PLC controlled stations, and supporting instrumentation as new lines come online; debug issues end to end (electrical, software, fixtures, sensors, I/O)
Partner with Controls and Test Engineering to install, bring up, and optimize equipment for start up readiness; document changes and results
Train operators and technical staff on safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and escalation paths
Respond on the floor to equipment/test failures; perform root cause analysis, contain issues, and restore operation quickly
Execute minor PLC/HMI adjustments under engineering guidance; maintain configurations, backups, and change logs
Monitor test station performance, yields, and false fail rates; surface trends and propose countermeasures
Implement hardware/software improvements that enhance safety, throughput, test coverage, and reliability (e.g., sensor upgrades, fixture refinements, vision checks)
Develop and refine PM, calibration, and verification procedures; keep stations audit ready with clear documentation and labeling
Collaborate with cross functional partners on line layout, error proofing, and standardized work improvements

This position requires a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. A negative drug/alcohol test result is required for employment. Refusal to take the test or a positive result may disqualify a candidate from further consideration. All drug testing will be conducted in accordance with federal and state laws
