Information Technology Applications Analyst II
City of San Leandro is seeking an Information Technology Applications Analyst II to support public safety and law enforcement business applications. The role involves maintaining, optimizing, and supporting the City’s software applications while providing technical support to end-users and collaborating with vendors.

Responsibilities
Performs routine applications, system and/or network support duties such as monitoring or adding applications/users/devices, modifying user profiles, re-setting passwords and performing file maintenance; sets up basic user access permissions consistent with City policies and procedures; creates, records, and maintains user access and security; provides training to users regarding computer equipment and operating procedures
Provides and/or ensures follow up on trouble calls and tickets; corresponds with or meets customers and vendors as needed to understand and resolve concerns; monitors automated system processes; monitors logs and files for evidence of problems or system failures; and ensures business resumption after system failures
Performs installation and configuration duties and related data design, migration, conversion, testing, evaluation, maintenance, and extraction work; assists in designing and/or creating, implementing, and maintaining databases, database tables and database objects; develops database scripts as needed for assigned business applications, interfaces, databases, devices, and systems
Analyzes data and information trends to support system capacity/performance planning or diagnose issues related to assigned systems; compiles and prepares reports and documentation on analysis findings
Research, plans, installs, configures, and tests new application systems and interfaces; designs, tests, and implements configuration changes or enhancements to existing application systems and interfaces; maintains and upgrades existing application systems and interfaces; applies software updates to servers and schedule periodic server cycling
Writes application and/or system design specifications; designs application and/or system flow diagrams, schematics, file structures, reports, forms, and menus; prepares a definition of the problem, the desired output, and performance requirements
Performs various system quality assurance activities; tests, troubleshoots and debugs system issues using appropriate technology; prepares and executes testing plans to validate functionality and resolve issues
Designs and implements digital workflows that reduce manual intervention, minimize human errors, and accelerate task completion; ensures seamless integration between applications to support end-to-end process automation
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to an associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field
IT Applications Analyst I: One (1) year of experience in supporting and implementing software, business applications systems, and/or other automation systems or processes
IT Applications Analyst II: Two (2) years of experience at a level equivalent to the City's IT Applications Analyst I classification
