The Toxicology Research Group is seeking a 2026 summer intern to investigate siRNA associated neurotoxicity in the CNS, providing hands-on experience in a biotech lab and enhancing research skills.

Responsibilities
Work on a project investigating small interfering RNA (siRNA) associated neurotoxicity in the CNS
Gain experience in mouse ICV (Intracerebroventricular) surgery, rodent handling and observation, tissue collection, and RNA extraction for qPCR and DGE (Differential Gene Expression)
Learn how to design an experiment, interpret results and present findings
Qualification
Required
MUST have a High School Diploma or GED
MUST be currently enrolled in a U.S. Undergraduate Degree Program and not graduating prior to the completion of the Ionis internship
MUST be able to begin internship between 6/8/26 and no later than 6/14/26
MUST be able and willing to commit to a minimum 40-hour work week
MUST be able and willing to remain in program through at least 8/14/26
MUST have local housing and means of transportation
