Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual machines including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
Select appropriate tooling based on material and job requirements
Perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Maintain tolerances according to specifications, often within +/- 0.001"
Complete in-process inspection of parts to ensure quality standards
Maintain and perform basic service on machinery
Document work completed according to company procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a manual machinist
Proficiency in operating manual lathes and mills
Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and fixturing
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Experience with precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of various materials (steel, aluminum, plastics, etc.) and their machinability
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification preferred
Preferred
5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with CNC machine operation
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Experience with prototype or small batch production
Familiarity with 5S or lean manufacturing principles
C-shift: Fri-Sun (5 am- 5:30 pm)
