Computer Scientist
Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a Full-Time Computer Scientist at the Air Force Materiel Command in Oklahoma City, OK. The role involves serving as a senior professional with project management and operational responsibilities, providing expert software engineering solutions, and conducting applied research to address challenges in the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities
Serve as a senior professional computer scientist with project management, execution, and operational responsibility in assigned area(s)
Considered the technical expert for the organization in computer science assignments
Provides expert software engineering solutions through the research, development, and application of innovative and emerging technologies to solve the evolving challenges facing the Department of Defense
Champion open architecture principles across the DoD and in the implementation of prototypes and pathfinders for risk reduction and in the rapid response to threats
Conduct applied research focused on the application of modern technologies to software sustainment
Serve as technical advisors to acquisition programs
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship
Obtain & maintain the appropriate Security clearance
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
Must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Certification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03
Preferred
A Computer Science degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or a closely related field is highly desired
