Insight Global is seeking a motivated Cable Technician who is reliable and eager to learn. In this role, you will install, test, and troubleshoot various types of cabling while maintaining and tracking tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Install, test, and troubleshoot Cat5/6, coaxial, fiber, and related cabling
Perform technical and non‑technical tasks with limited supervision
Correct installation deficiencies independently
Maintain and track tools, equipment, and materials
Test all newly installed or relocated cable following standard procedures
Discuss cable pathways, spaces, bonding/grounding, and fire‑stopping requirements
Support projects primarily to the site on Mobile, AL and nearby locations

Qualification

Cat5/6 installationCoaxial cablingFiber installationTroubleshootingDocumentationOSHA-10 certificationPanduit certificationData center experienceISP/OSP experience

Required

1+ year working with Cat5, Cat6, coaxial, fiber, and RJ‑45 terminations
Ability to work unsupervised and troubleshoot basic issues
Strong accountability with equipment and documentation
A background clean enough to pass a standard background check

Preferred

Underground cable installation experience (MediaCom, Live Oak Fiber, Cox – residential or commercial)
Manhole entry experience
Previous AT&T pole work
OSHA‑10 certification
Panduit certification
Fiber experience
Data center experience (cable pulling/dressing, patch panel terminations)
ISP/OSP experience (Inside Plant / Outside Plant)
