Senior Privacy Analyst

Cane Connects is seeking a Senior Privacy Scientist to play a critical role in advancing their Privacy Engine and ensuring the secure, compliant, and ethical use of sensitive healthcare data. This role involves researching, designing, and implementing privacy-preserving techniques while collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with privacy standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain the Privacy Engine, ensuring robust, fault-tolerant, and high-performance operation
Research, design, and implement privacy-preserving algorithms and techniques for large-scale datasets
Analyze complex healthcare datasets to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks
Conduct and support privacy risk and privacy impact assessments as required
Translate academic research, scholarly articles, and regulatory guidance into production-grade code and practical solutions
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, legal, compliance, and product teams to ensure alignment with privacy standards and regulations
Stay current on evolving privacy research, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring ongoing compliance (including HIPAA where applicable)
Produce clear technical documentation, reports, and written communication for both technical and non-technical audiences

Required

Strong understanding of statistical models and probability distributions
Familiarity with standard privacy models such as k-anonymity, k-map, and related frameworks
Experience with multi-dimensional data interpolation and large-scale data analysis
Proficiency in SQL
Ability to clearly explain complex technical and privacy concepts through strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to convert theoretical research into scalable, real-world applications
Experience working with healthcare data and/or in HIPAA-compliant environments
5+ years of experience in data science, privacy engineering, or related technical roles
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred

Experience applying NLP techniques is a plus
Privacy or security certifications such as CIPT, CIPP, or similar are a plus
