College Intern - Maritime Environment and Sustainability
The Port of Seattle is seeking a full-time summer intern for their Maritime Environment and Sustainability Remediation team. The intern will update area of concern maps for maritime properties, support the integration of the Port’s environmental database, and gain insights into Port operations and environmental management.

Responsibilities
Review, summarize, and inventory records of past environmental investigations, cleanups, and contaminant data for Port maritime properties, which includes both upland soil, groundwater and sediments
Translate environmental data and features (engineering and institutional controls, well locations, etc.) onto AOC maps
Work with Project Managers to identify data gaps within the Port’s environmental database and prioritize historical data to upload
To extent possible, integrate AOC maps into the Port’s environmental database
You will gain valuable insights into Port operations, customers, policies, stakeholders, and our role in shaping Seattle and Washington State
You will participate in ME&S staff meetings and other meetings and occasionally give presentations
You may also work on other ME&S projects and will have opportunities to apply creative thinking, innovative approaches, and grow professionally
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or be a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in a degree program such as Environmental Science, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Data Science, or a related field
Experience with GIS preferred
