Government Administration

Responsibilities

Provides support to and collaborates in the planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of the Training Center programs
Oversees training materials; prepares and tracks training information; assists with data and trend analysis; and prepares complex statistical reports
Corresponds with departments and divisions on usage and availability; schedules and attends meetings; and maintains supplies
Provides technical assistance to others
Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE)
Two years full-time, wage-earning criminal justice, program administration, management information systems, data analysis and report writing, or auditing experience
Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and management
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes
Skill in organization and time management
Skill in fast-paced environments
Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely
Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques
Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports
Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment

Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane

Preferred

Major course work in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, English, or a related field preferred
Data management, data analysis, or auditing experience preferred
Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, and regulations preferred
