Safety & Risk Management Coordinator
Inside Higher Ed is an educational institution seeking a Safety & Risk Management Coordinator to assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The role focuses on emergency planning and preparations, as well as ensuring compliance with OSHA health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Assists in reviewing, updating and editing the university emergency policies, procedures and handbook
Creates and implements emergency action plans, training, and table top exercises
Oversees the programming, upkeep and distribution of emergency radios during an EOC setup
Assists with the setup and management of the campus emergency and pet shelters
Ensures that proper emergency supplies are purchased and updated
Oversees the development and creation of emergency materials such as pamphlets, posters, etc., and that proper information is communicated to various departments and entities as needed and directed by the manager
Interacts with all areas of campus on emergency planning and preparations
Assists in researching and interpreting best practices and State and City & County orders during pandemics and assists with monitoring and supervising contact tracing and recording cases as the need and situation arises
Assists to ensure that all appropriate fire and life inspections are completed and recorded in a timely manner
Assists to ensure that safety programs and plans are updated, reviewed and that proper training is documented
Evaluates and recommends needed changes in processes and procedures in assigned area of responsibility and provide feedback to streamline processes
Assist with investigation of work related injuries to ensure timely reporting and resolution
Assists with ordering of and maintaining of safety supplies and equipment
Assist with environmental tests as needed
Assist in developing and implementing training campus wide which are but not limited to emergency preparedness, defensive and cart driving, respirator, etc
Supervise students in helping them to accomplished tasks in their assigned areas in the department
Resolve issues between students as they arise
Communicate changes in emergency and safety procedures to the campus 'Ohana
Participates in various campus meetings involving emergency and safety issues
Manages and updates the safety website
Oversees the safety department when manager is not in the office
Performs other tasks as assigned by the manager
Qualification
Required
Require a bachelor's degree or one to two years of related experience in emergency and safety
Have experience working and communicating with a diverse workforce
Has good supervision skills
Proficient in Microsoft word office
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Team player and willingness to learn quickly
CPR/FA certified. If not, be certified within three months of employment
Ability to work unusual work hours during a disaster or special events as needed
To be eligible for employment, applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church's Ecclesiastical Clearance Office
