SMALL CRAFT OPERATOR SUPERVISOR

Responsibilities

You will oversee the operation and routine maintenance of small craft to include log broncs, light tugs, barrier boats, utility boats, oil recovery skimmers, and boom platform boats
You will oversee regular and preventative maintenance on the small craft
You will supervise the boat crews to include operators, deckhands, or others as required
You will maintain a log of daily operations and occurrences, submits reports of operation as required
You will identify discrepancies in equipment on small craft which may cause a hazard to personnel or property

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
The incumbent will be subject to working odd or rotating shifts and weekends
Callback overtime is a requirement of this position
Incumbent shall respond to oil spills, radiological emergencies and perform radiological emergency drills
Incumbent must pass Navy second-class swim test or have completed STCW-95 (Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping)
Incumbent must have normal Eye color vision
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license to operate a forklift with capacity up to 15K
Incumbent will obtain and maintain a driver's license and commercial driver's license to operate a motor vehicle and commercial vehicle
Incumbent must complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain (SIM BBC) and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course
