Workday HRIS Director

Pennant is looking for a strategic and hands-on Workday HRIS Director to lead the vision, roadmap, and governance of their Workday ecosystem. In this role, you will partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and IT leaders to build scalable HR technology experiences while leading a team of Workday Analysts to drive continuous improvement across various functions.

Responsibilities

Own the Workday strategy, roadmap, and long‑term vision across all HCM modules
Serve as the organization’s Workday expert, staying ahead of new features and industry trends
Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and IT leaders to design scalable, future‑state processes
Lead project planning, resource allocation, testing, and deployment for Workday initiatives
Manage relationships with Workday and external implementation/integration partners
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of Workday Analysts
Oversee workload planning, prioritization, and delivery across projects and support
Provide coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities
Build team expertise in Workday configuration, reporting, integrations, and process design
Review and approve complex configuration changes to ensure scalability and compliance
Oversee system architecture decisions across business processes, security, and integrations
Establish strong data governance, integrity, privacy, and security standards
Partner with IT/Security to maintain Workday security frameworks and compliance requirements
Act as a strategic partner to HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Talent, and IT leaders
Serve as the escalation point for complex issues and competing priorities
Evaluate system performance and user feedback to drive process improvements and standardization

Required

8+ years in HRIS/HR tech, including 3–5 years in leadership
Deep hands‑on Workday expertise across multiple HCM modules
Experience shaping Workday strategy, governance, and system roadmaps
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end HR processes and data governance
Background in Workday configuration, business process design, integrations, and security
Proven success leading large‑scale Workday initiatives and cross‑functional projects

Preferred

Workday Pro certifications or consulting experience
Global or multi-country Workday experience
