Responsibilities
Create and maintain dashboards in Tableau and Power BI
Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
Communicate and present results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within college/unit and the University
Develop and maintain data models, automation systems, dashboards, reports and metrics that support key business decisions
Design and implement technical processes to address business issues (data collection, validation, modeling, etc.)
Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics
Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc
Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements
Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within the department and design/implement solutions to meet these needs
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, or related field
Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement
Five (5) years of experience in data analytics (can include co-op, internship, etc.), including two (2) years of personnel management experience
Preferred
Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources
Ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries (SQL, Python, R, etc.)
Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for leadership
Experience and knowledge of statistics and statistical packages for analyzing large data sets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
Experience creating dashboards and effectively visualizing data using relevant data to inform decisions (Tableau, PowerBI, SAS, etc.)
Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously
Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills
