Responsibilities
Reports directly to the Departmental Manager/Supervisor
Completes the admission and registration process, along with other admission and finance-related functions
Serves as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff
Handles walk-in patients and responds to incoming telephone calls from customers seeking assistance with patient accounting matters
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of admitting, billing, and collection functions
Resolves outstanding issues independently, without the need to involve other staff members
Provides excellent customer service at all times
Qualification
Required
GED or High School Diploma
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Excellent decision-making skills and initiative
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow efficiently
Ability to perform cashiering functions
Ability to manage stressful situations in a professional manner
Proficiency in a PC-based Windows environment; minimum typing speed of 25 wpm
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
CHAA certification
Experience in a healthcare or medical insurance environment
3–5 years of customer service experience preferred, ideally within a healthcare environment
Knowledge of insurance requirements preferred
