HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGER II

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is the backbone of California’s health care safety net, and they are seeking a Health Program Manager II to oversee essential supervisory functions within the Medical Operations Branch. This role involves providing supervision to staff, ensuring adherence to internal program policies, and collaborating with departmental staff on program service issues.

Responsibilities

Providing supervision and oversight of subordinate staff
Ensuring program and operations are successfully maintained
Ensuring internal program policies and procedures are followed and adhered to in accordance with state and federal statutes and regulations
Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the complex components of the California Children’s Services and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment programs
Working collaboratively with intra- and inter-departmental staff on issues affecting program services

Required

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the complex, continuously evolving and interactive components of the California Children's Services and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment programs
Ability to make timely, informed decisions that take into account available data-driven facts, objectives, and risks associated with the issue at hand
Ability to present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to consult with and advise leadership or other interested parties on a wide variety of subject-matter areas pertaining to healthcare
Ability to gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work
Ability to take initiative, and work both independently and as a team member
Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with co-workers and the public, interacting with individuals of varying personality types and personal backgrounds
