They are seeking an Undergrad Intern to support the Chief Financial Office in various business administration tasks, including benefits accounting, financial operations, and project controls.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Benefits Accounting: Manages the Hanford Site Savings Plans, Hanford Site Pension Plans, and the Hanford Employee Welfare Trust (HEWT). We work with the overseeing committees on the daily administration, recordkeeping, and governmental compliance of the plans
Business Administration & Integration: Responsible for indirect rate management, work for other Hanford contractors, and requests for services (support to non-Hanford or non-DOE entities). The team supports HMIS through coordinating sound financial decisions related to rate development and maintenance, and the usage-based services provided to others
Controller's Office: Manage HMIS financial operations (Invoicing for Department of Energy and One Hanford customers, Technical Accounting, Treasury and Accounts Payable), ensuring accurate reporting and regulatory compliance. Prepare, review and submit invoices in compliance with HMIS contractual agreements to the DOE and OHCs. Manage the accounting records including the general ledger, payroll, taxes, and inventory
Project Controls Services: Optimizes project management through cutting-edge systems and meticulous processes. Specializing in Planning and Scheduling, Baseline Change Management, Work Authorization, Cost Control, Analysis, Reporting, and Work Breakdown Structure, we bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record to every project
Business Process Compliance: Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and maintenance of an effective business compliance program. The program functions to establish early detection of potential non-compliances in high-risk business processes

Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in related fields of business management, project management, quality assurance, process improvement, accounting, finance, management information systems or another related field
Must have one college term completed at an accredited college or university, must be enrolled as a full-time student, and live within a commutable distance from the Richland work location
Must have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above
Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks
Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge
Preferred
Experience in data analysis, using spreadsheet functions, or familiarity with financial systems or ERP software
Experience with audit, compliance, benefits accounting, payroll, invoicing
