Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert for Microsoft Purview in a production environment
Assess and optimize an existing Purview implementation, including:
Data Map
Data Catalog
Scanning
Lineage
Classification
Glossary
Configure metadata standards, data structuring approaches, and classification models
Provide hands-on guidance on organizing and standardizing data assets within Purview
Support the creation of Purview views and dashboards to improve data visibility and usability
Work with stakeholders to understand current data governance practices and how they are implemented in Purview
Help define and implement foundational governance standards across data domains
Support the definition of data quality rules and approaches for surfacing quality insights through Purview (phased, as tooling allows)
Assist in standardizing governance practices across multiple business units or affiliates
Engage directly with business and technical stakeholders from day one
Facilitate discussions to understand data usage, ownership, and governance needs
Translate technical Purview capabilities into practical guidance for business users
Act as a trusted hands-on advisor embedded with the client
Qualification
Required
Expert‑level, hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview in a production environment
Demonstrated ability to work within an existing Purview implementation and improve structure, usability, and governance outcomes
Experience in Investment Management or Asset Management environments
Strong understanding of investment data domains such as: Portfolio and asset data, Positions, Transactions, Reference or master data
Background in data engineering, data architecture, analytics platforms, or data governance delivery
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders
Preferred
Experience working in large, complex, or multi‑affiliate organizations
Familiarity with AWS environments and Azure Fabric
Experience defining or implementing data quality rules and metrics
Exposure to other data catalog or governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
Prior consulting or client‑facing delivery experience
