Facilities Services Technician I - Janitorial

The City of Leander is seeking a Facilities Services Technician I - Janitorial to perform entry-level janitorial duties for City buildings. This role involves maintaining cleanliness in various locations, including sidewalks, and requires routine skills under general supervision.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets
Clean and disinfect restrooms, to include cleaning mirrors, glass doors, windows, blinds, door handles, light fixtures, and dust furniture and baseboards
Empty and clean waste receptacles, clean and dust office surfaces, vacuum offices, spot-clean walls, and properly set up and clean rooms for City activities
Sweep or blow off debris and standing water from sidewalks around the buildings
Sprinkle deicing agents on sidewalks as a safety precaution during inclement weather
Replenish all paper supplies and soap dispensers
Set-up and take-down tables, chairs, and other room furnishings when requested
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of six months of experience or training in janitorial maintenance
Working schedule outside of the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours
Valid Texas driver's license or its equivalent from any U.S. State

Minimum of one year of related experience in janitorial maintenance

Most full time, regular employees (excluding firefighters on a 24 hour shift schedule and department heads) accrue 3.69 hours of vacation time each pay period and are eligible to use that time after just six months of employment.
As a full time regular employee (excluding firefighters on a 24 hour shift), you accrue 3.69 hours of sick leave each pay period, which you are eligible to use after your first pay period with the city.
Regular full-time employees after they've been employed for one year or more are eligible for an annual payout of $5 for every month of City service.
All regular full-time employees participate in our Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).
