Administrative Assistant I- Traffic Safety (Part-Time)
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is Wisconsin's largest and most diverse technical college, offering a variety of programs to prepare students for careers. They are seeking an Administrative Assistant I to provide essential support by managing front desk operations, greeting visitors, and performing clerical duties to ensure efficient office management.

Responsibilities
Performs front desk operations, greets and assists visitors in a professional and courteous manner providing exemplary customer service, answers and directs incoming calls, takes messages, and ensures timely follow-up, and monitors and manages office deliveries and mail distribution
Provides general administrative support to department by managing all filing and maintaining the filing system. Completes data entry, photocopying, and assists in the preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence as needed. Schedules appointments, meetings, and conference room reservations. Provides administrative support to staff and management, including handling routine inquiries and performing tasks as directed
Ensures the office is kept clean, organized, and functional at all times. Performs inventory of office supplies and requests/orders additional supplies as needed
Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles, values, truthfulness, and accuracy in all actions. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidential and respectful manner
Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with students, staff, faculty, and administrators
Maintains informed on emerging technology trends and common user issues in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning
Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) months of office experience
Proven ability to create and maintain a positive work environment, manage multiple tasks effectively, adapt to change, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on strong organizational skills
Ability to understand, interpret and explain rules, regulations, procedures, and written and oral instructions
Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means
Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain effective work relationships with peers, students, teachers, staff, representatives of outside agencies, educational institutions, and the general public
Ability to convey an image of professionalism and dedication in work related activities
Ability to work with culturally diverse student and employee populations and promote a positive work environment
Proficiency in the use of computers and software specific to position, including Google Suite software
Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision as an individual and team contributor
Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year or more of office experience

PAID HOLIDAYS: MATC offers paid/flex holidays based on position.
