Assistant Director, Bureau of Early Intervention
The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is dedicated to protecting and improving the health of NYC residents. The Assistant Director will oversee the Regional Office practices, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality service delivery to children and families in the Early Intervention Program.

Responsibilities
Assist with the oversight of the Regional Office practices and work to ensure that they are consistent with other EI Regional offices
Supervise Regional Office staff, including office managers, Early Intervention Official Designees
Advise the Director of all matters relating to the Regional Office performance
Work with staff to ensure delivery of high quality services to NYC's children and families, including implementing NYC Policy and Procedures and promoting regulatory compliance
Oversee staff work in the EI Hub, the NYS EI case management and billing system and work in a dynamic team environment to build commitment to the program goals and initiatives, by working closely with all levels of staff
Assist with staff hiring, performance evaluations and staff development
Assist with developing reports and presentations
Develop and implement procedures, databases and indicators to maintain information and monitor office performance and efficiency
Qualification
Required
A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, or Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization, Physical Sciences or related programs; and A minimum of four years of progressive, responsible, experience related to Health Care Program Planning, Research, Design, Operation, Evaluation and Analysis; or
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration, Health Care Specialization, Business Administration or related disciplines; and A minimum of three years progressive, responsible, experience directly related to health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation and analysis; or
A satisfactory equivalent combination or training, education and experience; and
Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication
Preferred
Knowledge of early childhood development, ages birth to three years
Familiarity with best practices in working with infants and toddlers and their families, particularly infants and toddlers with delays and disabilities
Knowledge of the NYC Early Intervention Program, its policies and procedures, and of the NYC EI service landscape
Outstanding verbal communication skills, in person and on the phone
Experience with meeting facilitation, mediation, or similar tasks that involve moderation and bringing a group to consensus
Excellent written communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, and experience working with strict process requirements and deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as a team
Experience with case management or similar software/applications a plus
