They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer/Editor to manage technical documentation and provide meeting support at the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive technical writing and editing support, ensuring all documentation adheres to proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting standards
Perform configuration management of technical documents, maintaining an organized and accessible collection of government publications and related materials
Managing document libraries, collecting, classifying, and facilitating access to a broad array of documents to support project needs
Providing meeting support by scheduling and facilitating meetings, preparing minutes, recording discussions, and tracking action items to ensure follow-through on project tasks
Understanding project management concepts will be essential for evaluating if project goals, requirements, and objectives are being met
Supporting procurement processes related to supplies and materials, contributing to project documentation and reporting as required
Collaborating closely with team members, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and project execution

Required

A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
At least two (2) years of experience in technical writing, editing, formatting, and configuration management of documentation using established guidelines
Experience supporting meetings through scheduling, facilitation, minute-taking, and action item tracking
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong interpersonal skills
Good judgment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to lift up to 15-25 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to perform periodic twisting, bending, and squatting
A security clearance at the Secret level
US citizenship

Preferred

Background knowledge in Gun Weapon Systems and Navy programs
Working knowledge of MS Project
