Power Generation Project Engineering Intern
Pacific Gas and Electric Company is managing and operating the largest privately-owned hydroelectric system in the nation, and they are seeking a Power Generation Project Engineering Intern. The intern will work alongside Project Engineers providing engineering, project management, and technical support for improvements to power generation and infrastructure facilities.

Responsibilities
Work alongside PG&E Project Engineers
Provide engineering, project management, and technical support to O&M staff for small to large capital and expense improvements to power generation and infrastructure facilities
Support activities related to upgrades or replacement of turbine/generator, boiler, auxiliary equipment or improvements to civil water conveyance or infrastructure features
Qualification
Required
Earning a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Students must be continuing their education with returning back to school in the Fall of 2026 full time
Must have a valid driver's license prior to start date
Students must be in good academic standing
Be able to accommodate field location work fifty (50) percent of the time
Preferred
EIT or FE certification
Academic school projects related to Utility or Energy Hydroelectric listed on resume
Prior PG&E internship
3.0 GPA or greater
Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, communication skills, both oral and written. Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
