Sr. Application Engineer (Sumter, SC)
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer to support the pre/post-order management process for Sumter switchboard orders. The role involves overseeing customer drawings, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring accurate order management for data center customers.

Responsibilities
Reconcile incoming orders, using information supplied through Eaton’s product configuration tool, order system and other communications from field sales and/or channel partners, verifying that the plant's manufacturing capabilities can support the lead-time request
Attend project kick-off, coordination, on-board drawing reviews and/or witness testing as a subject matter expert based on needs of the project
Create customer approval drawing package for first of kind design Hyperscale/Data center jobs
Complete confirmation drawings for Hyperscale/Data center jobs
Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received from field sales and/or channel partners on incoming switchboard order
Collaborate with other disciplines (manufacturing, project management, sales) to develop construction documentation sets for data center customers
Review released order details and manage the information coordination with customer service for scheduling to a specific lead time indicator and/or manufacturing line
Work with Segment Application Engineer to provide a complete and accurate clean order entry check list to the Sumter front-end team
Prepare purchase requisition for non-stock material items
Review customer submitted configuration for dimensional and layout accuracy
Review bill-of-material for completeness
Manage all post-released order changes, internal or external to the team, including product substitution and ship short transactions
Interpret detailed non-standard customer requirements and translate such into previously established standards, whenever possible
Contact field sales as required to ensure accurate interpretation of the intent of the specifications
Conduct technical training for the others within the front-end Switchboard Team
Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products
Proactively participate on cross functional teams in support of implementing lean manufacturing strategies, including front end business process improvement
Interface with the Design Engineering dept as necessary for development of switchboard custom designs
Interface with Quality/Warranty Department to ensure continued post-shipment customer support
Review complex wiring schemes in order to develop BOM and material requisition for advanced wiring devices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum 3 years of engineering experience within a Panelboard and Switchboard manufacturing facility
Minimum 2 years of experience processing data center orders

No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sumter, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Experience with AutoCAD software
Experience with Eaton systems: VISTA, Bid Manager, AS-400, ENOVIA & DMM
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of switchboards
Demonstrated proficiency in verbal & written communications, organizational & computer skills
