TRAILS AND ACCESS SPECIALIST V - DOWNTOWN, OAHU
NEOGOV is part of the State of Hawai'i's Land & Natural Resources department, seeking a Trails and Access Specialist V to manage and support the Trails and Access Program. The role involves planning, developing, and implementing projects, as well as providing program support services to ensure the conservation of cultural heritage and environmental resources.

Responsibilities
Overall planning, development and implementation of projects in accordance with the branch's goals and objectives
Preparing operating budgets, determining program priorities, and developing policies and procedures for the island district Trails and Access Program
Representing the program at community meetings and events, branch and program meetings, and planning activities
Promoting the program throughout the district community to generate support for the program's activities, goals and objectives
Directing the work of lower level specialists and technical personnel in the conduct of trails and access management projects and related activities
Providing program support services to the districts and staff support to the division administrator
Developing and recommending broad policies and standards for statewide trails and access activities and for commercial use of trails and related outdoor recreation resources
Coordinating between the districts for statewide projects or events
Conducting administrative and technical support, such as automating the inventory of trails and access roads, and providing consultation to the district trails and access personnel on the technical aspects of the Trails and Access Program
Qualification
Required
Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
Education: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree. Course work must include a minimum of 24 semester credit hours in at least three of the following areas: (1) natural resources management; (2) natural resources based outdoor recreation; (3) natural resources planning; (4) related studies
Specialized Experience: THREE (3) YEARS of progressively responsible professional experience in outdoor recreation management, natural resources management or other related fields which demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain a trails and access road system within a resource recreational program
Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. This vacancy has this requirement
