Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Solution Engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with Serco’s strategic objectives
Partner with Business Development, Capture, and Proposal teams to design winning technical solutions that incorporate innovation, engineering rigor, and competitive differentiation
Identify and integrate innovative digital capabilities across Serco’s BUs to strengthen proposals and drive consistency in solutioning
Oversee the end-to-end IR&D process, including ideation, prioritization, approval, execution, and budget management, ensuring alignment with business priorities and measurable return on investment
Transition successful IR&D outcomes into operational programs and proposals, accelerating adoption of new technologies
Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to inform Serco’s technology roadmap and innovation strategy

Required

US Citizenship
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Bachelor of Science degree in technical-related discipline
Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, solutions architecture, or digital transformation roles, including minimum 5 years in leadership positions
Proven ability to lead technical teams, foster collaboration, and deliver complex solutions in mission-critical environments
Strong background in digital transformation, modernization strategies, and technology roadmaps
Understanding of cloud architectures, DevSecOps, automation, AI/ML, and modern engineering practices
Demonstrated success managing IR&D or R&D portfolios, developing intellectual property, and creating reusable technical assets
Ability to translate business objectives into technology roadmaps and actionable solutions
Familiarity with Agile methodology and Lean principles
Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to engage confidently with technical leaders, business executives, customers, partners, and subcontractors
Ability to travel up to 10%
