Accounting Manager | Controller
Total Care Connections is one of the fastest-growing home care organizations in Arizona and Colorado, seeking a hands-on, highly skilled Controller to lead their accounting function. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and leading a small remote team while ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial processes.

Responsibilities
Leading day-to-day accounting and transaction coding across multiple entities
Managing weekly billing processes across all payer types including private pay, Medicaid, VA, LTC insurance, and medical claims
Overseeing accounts receivable including aging, reporting, collections, and claim follow-up
Overseeing accounts payable through Ramp and ensuring accurate, timely vendor payments
Performing bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Reconciling WellSky, KanTime, and other billing/EHR systems with QuickBooks Online
Recording, depositing, and accurately classifying incoming checks and payments
Managing and improving Paychex payroll integration to strengthen cost accounting by service line and location
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead cash-to-accrual conversions for internal management reporting
Support annual budgeting and forecasting in partnership with internal leadership
Provide budget-to-actual reporting to help leadership monitor financial performance
Maintain chart of accounts integrity and ensure GAAP compliance
Partner with external CPA support for audits, tax planning, and financial strategy
Ensure billing is accurate, compliant, and timely across all payer sources
Troubleshoot claim denials and guide the billing team toward best practices
Manage overseas billing and collections team members
Identify root causes of recurring billing issues and implement long-term solutions
Lead a small remote accounting and billing support team, including international staff
Work closely with the COO and CEO to ensure financial visibility and operational alignment
Support credentialing oversight to ensure licenses, enrollments, and certifications remain current
Lead IT support staff and vendors to ensure systems performance and data accuracy
Collaborate with operations, recruiting, and scheduling teams to improve workflows and financial processes
Strengthen internal controls and improve financial workflows company-wide
Streamline processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual tasks
Support property accounting for company-owned buildings, including rent tracking, CAM reconciliation, and capital improvements
Drive continuous improvement across software tools, automations, and reporting accuracy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
Experience with multi-entity accounting and cash-to-accrual conversions
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and communication skills
Ability to work on-site and effectively lead a hybrid remote and overseas team
Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Healthcare accounting and medical billing oversight experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with payroll systems, AP systems, and system reconciliations
