Clinical Quality Assurance Coordinator
The University of Michigan is seeking a Clinical Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative for Quality Improvement (MARCQI) initiative, which focuses on improving patient outcomes in hip and knee joint replacement surgery. Responsibilities
Maintain build relationship across participating sites- including visiting (at maximum) twice yearly to evaluate data quality assurance adherence to program procedures and data quality and evaluate the performance of participating sites
Report Site Data Quality Assurance Evaluation Visit results to MARCQI coordinators and managers; providing timely and informative/constructive feedback to each site based on results of site visit
Communicate issues of data validity, clinical data entry, or issues regarding incomplete cases to the Program Manager and other Coordinating Center staff
Respond to Site Coordinators questions regarding data variables and definitions; and other communication with Site Coordinators
Help monitor quality of data in registry by developing and testing data collection strategies and tools, and provide training and education for the participants on program requirements
Assist in data registry function testing, support, and improvement opportunities
Support participating site?s quality improvement activities and goals (e.g., Identify issues preventing program participants from functioning at high levels of performance, and working with participants to resolve these issues.)
Lead a collaborative-wide quality improvement effort with the Program Manager and/or Program Director
Support/Lead collaborative-wide work groups or committees with the Program Manager and/or Program Director
Coordinate collaborative-wide quality improvement efforts with Program Manager and/or Program Director
Support and learn to develop project design and execution with Program Manager
Review data analysis and visualization support for presentations related to quality improvement project
Create and maintain documentation of procedures/processes
Attending all collaborative-wide meetings
Support all collaborative-wide meeting and activity coordination and execution
Customer service to site partners and participants
Lead and support the abstractor breakout sessions and educational phone calls
Completing other assigned projects, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health care field or quality or public health is required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a health care setting is required with experience reviewing medical records
5-8 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting process, clinical outcomes, and quality improvement opportunities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suites (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Drive), DropBox, Asana, and Zoom
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to work cohesively in a team
Independently address tasks with minimal direct supervision
Meticulous organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing and shifting priorities
Individual must be able to be in the office in Ann Arbor, Michigan 3-4 times a week and travel to meetings and participating locations across the state throughout the year
Preferred
Master's degree in a health care or quality field is preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Collaborative Quality Initiative (CQI) is preferred
Experience with data collection in clinical research or quality improvement is highly desirable
Public speaking proficiency
